CHALLENGE
SORG partnered with long-standing customer HEINZ-GLAS, on a project to completely rebuild and restart the electric furnace at its Dzialdowo-based plant to increase capacity and flexibility. Working at a new factory built within a residential area, the equipment demanded a unique design and heating system that had to be reassembled in an extremely short space of time.
SORG APPROACH
We delivered a VSM® furnace with a melting surface of 13m2 and the option of enlargement, with a forehearth system which will allow the production of packaging using opal glass, flint glass and PCR (Post Consumer Recycling Glass) obtained from selective waste collection.
RESULTS
The new furnace was reassembled in an extremely short space of time and is 100% powered by renewable energy sources, producing up to 50 tpd of glass. It also has the flexibility to make different types of glass, including opal and flint glass.
